Introduction to libpsl

The libpsl package provides a library for accessing and resolving information from the Public Suffix List (PSL). The PSL is a set of domain names beyond the standard suffixes, such as .com.

Development versions of GLFS may not build or run some packages properly if LFS or dependencies have been updated since the most recent stable versions of the books.

libpsl Dependencies

Required

libidn2-2.3.7 and libunistring-1.2

Installation of libpsl

Install libpsl by running the following commands:

mkdir build &&
cd    build &&

meson setup --prefix=/usr --buildtype=release &&

ninja

To test the results, issue: ninja test.

Now, as the root user:

ninja install

Command Explanations

--buildtype=release: Specify a buildtype suitable for stable releases of the package, as the default may produce unoptimized binaries.

32-bit Installation of libpsl

First clean the directory by running the following command:

rm -rf *

Install lib32-libpsl by running the following commands:

CC="gcc -m32" CXX="g++ -m32"         \
PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/lib32/pkgconfig \
meson setup ..                       \
      --prefix=/usr                  \
      --libdir=/usr/lib32            \
      --buildtype=release &&

ninja

Now, as the root user:

DESTDIR=$PWD/DESTDIR ninja install
cp -vr DESTDIR/usr/lib32/* /usr/lib32
rm -rf DESTDIR
ldconfig
